RYA Training for Leisure
Based in the beautiful city of Bristol, our HQ runs a full range of RYA recognized marine industry courses including Powerboat, Personal Watercraft (JetSki) and safety boat courses. If you’re planning on buying or renting a boat, you will need one of these qualifications. We are the only RYA coastal training centre based in the Bristol Historic Floating Harbour and we are the only RYA centre to work in both inland and coastal waterways.
We also offer a variety of shore-based programmes such as Sea Survival, VHF/SRC Radio courses and a First Aid course which is specifically tailored to the marine industry and some of these courses are available as interactive online training.

On shore courses
Specialist Water Safety Training
Designed for those who work on or near water, these courses are all DEFRA compliant and candidates will leave with a working knowledge of the risks associated with water, know the basic principles and safety measures required to keep yourself and your colleagues safe whilst at work near water.
RYA Instructor Training
This courses is for clients looking to branch out into the watersports industry as an instructor. This courses covers the skills necessary to instruct sailing and watersports with the opportunity for seasonal employment as a Sailing Instructors, which appeals to those who wish to join a work-hard, play-hard lifestyle.
Superyacht Crew Training
Our STCW/ MCA approved classroom based courses cover everything from Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting to Personal Survival Techniques. We run these courses as individual modules or as intensive programmes from our HQ in Bristol, using other facilities for specific elements of the training.
"Get into Boating" Course
This 5 day course, is designed for complete beginners, and will cover all of the basic qualifications and information necessary to start your passion to get out on the water safely. The course will include; Powerboat Level 2, VHF/SRC Radio Course, First Aid at Sea and Sea Survival.
