Level 1

This is a one-day course designed for complete beginners to the Powerboating world. It is an introduction to boating techniques for everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment. In the Bristol Harbour, you will get to grips with maneuvering a powerboat up to 10 meters in the daylight. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to assist onboard a powerboat and drive under supervision.

Level 2

The perfect 2 day course for young adults to gain experience in powerboating! This is 2 day course, designed for young adults between the ages of 12-16 years old, who wish to learn how to safely and confidently drive a powerboat in the Bristol Historic floating harbour. The course begins at our HQ covering the theory on board a powerboat, including preparation of the rib and crew and safety on board. We then head out onto the water to the floating harbour, where the students will practice slow speed manoeuvring.

This gives the students the opportunity to drive into the centre of Bristol by boat and practice mooring at the many pontoons and landings around the harbour (it is also good for sightseeing locations such as the SS Great Britain and the M-shed). By the end of the course, candidates will be presented with a RYA Level 2 Powerboat certificate, which will enable them to drive any motor driven vessel up to 10 meters in length, in daylight conditions. The second day expands on their manoeuvring skills and building confidence with safety training including “Man Overboard Drills” using a dummy.
