These courses are designed for those who are involved in outdoor activities or work in rural locations. They cover a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way, particularly where professional medical help is not immediately available. 

 
 

LEVEL 3 EMERGENCY OUTDOOR FIRST AID

The Level 3 Emergency Outdoor First Aid meets the requirements of the Institute for Outdoor Learning band 2 training.

Price: £75

Duration: 1 day (8 hours)

Assumed Pre-Course Ability: None.

Minimum Age: 14 years old.

Exam Type / Duration: Continual practical assessment during the course, written assessment

Max. Instructor / Student Ratio: 1:12

Syllabus:

A range of outdoor First Aid related subjects are covered including:

  • > Summon assistance
  • > Monitoring
  • > Scene survey
  • > Resuscitation
  • > Disorders of respiration
  • > Wounds and bleeding
  • > Hypovolaemic shock

LEVEL 3 OUTDOOR FIRST AID

The Level 3 Outdoor First Aid course is focused on people working or doing activities in remote locations. This course covers not only how to attend to a casualty but also when and how to move a casualty, major illnesses and injuries, administering CPR and managing an unresponsive casualty when professional medical help is not immediately available. This course is often attended by loan workers and outdoor activity instructors/enthusiasts. The Level 3 Outdoor First Aid course also fulfils the requirements of the First Aid element of the expedition syllabus and is suitable for the Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards. With our specialist knowledge of being in or around water we also include a lot of training for those working near water if required on this course utilising our swift water location.

Duration: 2 day (16 hours)
