The RYA Intermediate Powerboat Course is a 2 day course focusing on daytime navigation skills, passage planning, use of plotting instruments, GPS and electronic navigation. This course covers the practical use of pilotage and passage planning by day on coastal waters using both traditional and electronic navigational techniques.
During the two days the RYA Intermediate Powerboat Course also covers more advanced boat handling. It is recommended for anyone considering moving on to the advanced course. Within the challenging environment of the Bristol Channel and surrounding areas, navigation skills are key and our instructors will assist in your own development.
At current, due to COVID-19, there are some changes to the normal running of this course. This includes student screening, the supply and use of PPE, social distancing, and enhanced hygiene protocols. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
You will be required to bring your own face covering and gloves for the duration of the course, which are compulsory when in close proximity to others. If you don’t have your own, they are available for purchase.

Able to create a passage plan and navigate on coastal waters in day light.
