Course Information: This is the RLSS UK DEFRA Module 2 Course, and this course meets the DEFRA Module 2 Water and Flood First Responder requirements.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to implement on-site safety risk assessments, have a working knowledge of the appropriate use of personal protective equipment, set up an emergency action plan, and coordinate emergency procedures. This will include experience in how to move, rescue, and control yourself and your team in moving water, the use of PPE and rescue equipment, including throw bags, telescopic poles, and life jacket training in the water.

Course Structure: The course is run over two days in person, with a split on both days of theory and practical.

Course Assessment: Oral questioning and practical assessment, which includes throw bag demonstrations, types of swim, and wading.
